Start with what goes into the jug
A large family batch of cold drinks points toward the Ninja's larger pitcher. A cook looking for a speed dial and an included tamper should inspect the E310. Match the jar design and permitted uses to what you plan to blend.
The Ninja is not for hot liquids
Ninja's BL610 instructions explicitly prohibit blending hot liquids. This is a significant limit for a cook whose main plan is soup straight from the stove. Do not treat a soup photograph or a general blender recommendation as permission to ignore the model's manual.
The E310 manual provides its own instructions for handling hot ingredients, lid placement and starting speed. Read them before use and respect the fill limit. For any blender, the correct procedure belongs to the specific machine, not to a general rule that all jugs are suitable for hot soup.
A tamper is different from stopping to scrape
Vitamix includes the matching mini-tamper. It is designed for use through the designated lid opening under the instructions. Do not improvise with a spoon while the blades turn. Ninja's stacked blade design requires its own care: switch off before dislodging food and handle the removable blade assembly cautiously.
Think about the sink as well as the countertop. A machine you use for a daily drink will need routine cleaning, not occasional cleaning. Read the care instructions for the jug and blade arrangement. A self-cleaning routine still requires the right amount of water, soap and careful handling afterward.
Our fit-based shortlist
The E310 is the stronger shortlist here for someone specifically seeking variable-speed control and a supplied tamper. The BL610 is the more direct shortlist for larger cold-drink batches. Neither recommendation establishes a measured advantage in smoothness, noise or lifespan.
Do not compare the Vitamix horsepower figure and Ninja's wattage as if they were the same measurement. Even numbers reported in the same units would not describe blade geometry, jar shape or a finished blend. Those are reasons to consult testing evidence separately when performance is the deciding question.
