These machines solve different prep problems
For a small herb sauce, the Cuisinart is the more targeted shortlist. For a bowl of slaw or repeated cheese shredding, consider the Hamilton Beach. Match the attachments and stated capacity to the preparation you do most often.
Bigger does not mean better for every batch
A processor needs enough food around its blade to work with. Choosing a large bowl for a spoonful of herbs can create a lot of scraping and another large object to wash. Choosing a mini bowl for a party-size dip creates a different inconvenience: several batches and an extra bowl for combining them.
Write down your usual quantities before buying. A single dinner's garnish and a week of batch preparation are different habits. Also check liquid fill guidance in the manual. The nominal bowl size is not permission to fill the bowl to the rim with a thin dressing.
The scraper and the sink
Hamilton Beach includes a bowl-scraper attachment, two speeds and pulse. The scraper is intended to move food back toward the blades without removing the lid. Cuisinart's smaller machine has fewer processing attachments. Neither feature list tells us how much residue remains after a particular dip.
Both brands list dishwasher-safe removable parts for these models. Keep the motor bases out of water, and handle the blades carefully. If your dishwasher is already crowded after dinner, lay out the parts mentally before deciding that a bigger machine will save work.
Check the actual model and finish
Our linked Cuisinart is the white DLC-2A. The manufacturer product-family page used for research displays the brushed-chrome DLC-2ABC. Both belong to the Mini-Prep Plus 3-cup family, but the retailer finish should be confirmed before checkout.
The Hamilton Beach link is the 10-cup 70730, not the 12-cup Stack & Snap. Similar names and changing listings make that distinction worth spelling out. Buy the attachment set you need without treating nominal wattage as a complete performance score.
