The water takes a different route
The practical choice is the routine you want to repeat. AeroPress suits someone interested in an immersion stage followed by a press. V60 suits someone who wants to manage the pour through the coffee bed.
Serving size needs translation
AeroPress describes one 10-ounce serving for its standard full-water method, with other concentrated recipes available. Hario lists the size 02 dripper for one to four cups. A manufacturer's cup is not necessarily your large breakfast mug, so consider the actual brew volume and the server underneath.
If you routinely make coffee for two people, plan the recipe and serving vessels before ordering. Repeated single brews can be perfectly workable, but they are still repeated work. Do not buy a small brewer on the assumption that a printed cup count will match everyone's preferred serving.
Remember the small consumables
The Original uses AeroPress-sized paper micro-filters. The V60 size 02 uses its corresponding cone filters. Add the right filters to your plan rather than discovering that a generic basket filter is a poor fit. A separate grinder is useful if you want to change the grind for each method.
The linked AeroPress is the Original polypropylene model, not the Clear, Go or glass Premium version. The linked V60 is a red plastic size 02. These material and size distinctions matter when comparing portability, cupboard space and replacement parts across the wider product families.
Our buying judgment
Shortlist AeroPress for a single-serving immersion-and-press routine. Shortlist V60 for a pour-over routine where you want direct control of the water pour. A scale can help keep the dose and water consistent with either method, but the brewer itself does not measure them for you.
AeroPress calls some recipes espresso-style. That phrase should not be mistaken for a claim that this handheld brewer supplies the pressure profile of a pump espresso machine. If espresso is the main reason for buying, compare the actual brewing mechanism and the drink you want, rather than the wording on a product title.
