OXO lists a 6.22-quart outer bowl and a 4.95-quart basket. The larger number describes the bowl, not the amount of leaves you should compress inside the basket. Zyliss supplies dimensions and serving descriptions rather than a directly comparable basket volume, so this comparison does not invent an equivalent capacity.
Wash the greens before spinning; the spinning stage sheds rinse water. Leave room for the leaves to move, dividing a packed basket into smaller batches. Empty collected water between rounds instead of letting the basket sit above a growing pool. Judge the drained leaves before adding dressing, since water left on their surfaces will dilute it.
Check the lid and the storage shelf
The selected OXO measures ten and a half inches across and six inches high. Zyliss lists its Large at twenty-seven centimeters across and thirteen high, with a folding handle held by a magnetic clip. Its lower stated profile may matter on a shallow shelf, though the whole bowl still needs a broad footprint.
Zyliss includes a pouring spout for draining collected water. OXO's basket can also serve as a colander, and its lid separates for cleaning. Decide whether you would use those features or simply remove the basket and empty the bowl at the sink. That repeated motion is a better purchase guide than the number of promises on a package.
Dry the tool as well as the leaves
OXO marks its selected spinner dishwasher safe. Zyliss's care section limits dishwasher use to the bowl and basket and says to hand wash the lid in its FAQ. The page includes broader cleaning language elsewhere, so this comparison follows the narrower care direction rather than assuming the mechanism belongs in the dishwasher.
Choose OXO for a push-knob routine, or Zyliss for a pull-cord routine and its documented folding handle. After use, clean and dry the parts before nesting them for storage. A spinner that is clean and easy to reach is more likely to help with tomorrow's salad.
